5-Week SASA Reading Group: The Alexander Romance

This reading group provides the students with an introduction to the ancient reception of Alexander the Great with a focus on the Alexander Romance. It will enable participants to explore aspects of the historical and legendary life of Alexander the Great and to form an educated opinion on the ancient Macedonian hero.  Students will read and discuss texts (in translation) taken from Ancient Greek Historiography, Biography, and Novels, and they will develop their critical skills. No prior knowledge of Greek literature or history is required to attend this reading group.
