Access

  •  Provide greater ease of access for Ancient Studies information

  • compiling and developing a platform listing online resources in all Ancient Studies fields

  • research to discover, evaluate, and categorize Ancient Studies websites

Outreach

  • Forms relationships & partnerships with organizations, individuals, & businesses to help further our shared missions to Save Ancient Studies!

  • Interns will seek out potential partners, help draft language for outreach, & work to maintain and grow relationships.

Archaeogaming

  • Work with scholars to create complete Archaeogming lesson plans.

  • Preference will be given to individuals with prior experience in K-12 classroom settings, development of script guidelines, editing scripts & videos & distribution to public schools.

Inspire Campaign

  • Create 2023-2024 addition of SASA's Inspire Social Media Campaign

  • Take interesting ancient topics & connect them to scholarship behind the scenes

  • Hone your research & writing skills!

Our internships and volunteer staff are unfortunately unpaid at the moment. We are aware of the problems surrounding unpaid labor, which is why we are actively working towards raising funds, applying for grants and getting donations. Please consider donating so we can pay our hard-working volunteers and interns!

Call for Summer 2024 Reading Group Leaders

SASA is seeking 19 Reading Group Leaders

(Part-time, PAID position)

  • 13 Ancient Studies PhD Students or Early Career Scholars for the paid role of Reading Group Leader for 8 three-week Reading Groups and 5 one-time Master Classes.

  • 6 Ancient Studies PhD Students or Early Career Scholars for the paid role of Reading Group Leader for five-week Continuing Education Reading Groups

  • Lead a weekly discussion on a topic of your choice related to any area of ancient studies

  • Expected hours vary according to form of Group. All meetings take place via private Zoom sessions and all work is done remotely.

  • Groups can be held June 10th - August 16th. Groups cannot run on July 21st and 22nd due to our Virtual Conference

  • SASA Summer Reading Groups are sponsored by the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation
