EPOCH is a magazine produced by Lancaster University's history community that provides postgraduates and early career researchers with the opportunity to publish their work in a friendly and accessible format. EPOCH spans all time periods, geographical areas, and themes, giving researchers from every historical focus the ability to share their work.

Alex Pomeroy is EPOCH's Co-ordinating Editor and Social & Cultural History Editor. On top of his work with EPOCH, Alex is a PhD student at Lancaster University, having already achieved his BA in history and MA in international and military history from the same department. His MA thesis about Irish Free State volunteers during WWII was featured in Issue 17 of EPOCH, which his PhD research is built upon.
