About the Event
Previous participation and previous knowledge not required.
Ancient Egypt was “in” Africa - but what makes it “African”? This reading group, as indicated by its namesake, focuses on the relationship between Ancient Egypt and other African cultures. There will, however, be specific areas of focus given the time restraints. The specific areas will be: internal African relations, language, gender, and carnival traditions. The overall aim of this reading group is to introduce participants to the cultural connection between Ancient Egypt and other African peoples which is often underrepresented.
