Petra, One of the 7 Wonders

Known as one of the world's most famous archaeological sites, the city of Petra, capital of the Nabataean Arabs has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Also called the "Red Rose City" because of the colour of the stone from which is it carved, the site is located 240 km south of the capital Amman and 120 km north of the red sea town of Aqaba. 

People don't often realize how big Petra is! To discover it in full, I have created a series of 3 tours around this magnificent site.  In this particular tour, we'll explore one of the legendary monuments of Petra, the Monastery or "Ad Deir" in Arabic. Hidden high in the hills, the monument's façade of 47 m in width and 48 m in height.
