The website of the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago. Its collections focus on the art, history, and archaeology of the Ancient Near East (Egypt, Nubia, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, Anatolia, and the Levant) from the last 10,000 years. THere are digitized materials of its comprehensive collections, including artifacts, excavation records, administrative documents, and publications, public exhibits. Management of the materials that comprise the Oriental Institute's collections is organized into five units: Museum Registration, Tablet Collection, Archives, Conservation, and the Research Library.
