About the Event

Previous participation and previous knowledge are not required. Are you interested in how the ancients viewed vampires, werewolves, and other ghostly creatures? Cultures throughout time have all had stories involving mythological creatures that go bump in the night. While we tend to think of Vampires stalking medieval hamlets, or werewolves terrorizing London, mythological horrors have haunted the nightmares of humanity across the world for thousands of years. This Master Class will survey some of these creatures and their doppelgangers across the Ancient World. And just as these contemporary ghastly monsters shock and surprise their modern audiences, their ancient counterparts both appear in surprising places and share frightening similarities to their modern mythological equivalents, raising the question… Were they for real?  Boo!
